Dr. Anand Y. Joshi is currently employed at Parul Institute of Technology, Parul University in Vadodara, Gujarat, India, where he holds the position of Director (Research) and Professor in the Mechatronics Engineering Department. In 2011, he received his Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering from the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee. His research interests include areas such as vibration, nano biosensors, nano mechanics, and functionally graded materials, amongst others. At Parul University, he is currently guiding two research scholars and has previously been successful in supervising three PhD scholars. He has more than 21 years of combined experience in the classroom and in research. One of his articles was published by Nature India, and another was published in the journal Physica E: Low dimensional systems and Nanostructures, Elsevier Publishers. The latter article was cited as one of the Top 25 hottest articles in the journal, and it has been the most cited article in the journal since 2008. He has more than 50 publications to his credit in reputable journals and conferences. A number of grants for travel, conferences, and research have been awarded to him by the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Industries Commissionerate and other government agencies. One of these grants, the Fast Track research grant awarded to Young Scientists under the age of 35 years by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, New Delhi, was for his project on the computational investigation of the dynamic characteristics of carbon nanotubes for atomic scale sensing of objects. He has successfully organised three conferences on an international level and one on a national level. His proposal for a self-paced Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) with the title "Nanocomposites: Fundamentals and Applications" was accepted by the All India Council for Technical Education for inclusion on the SWAYAM portal. He also serves as an Advisor, a member of the Technical Committee, and an Editorial board member for a number of prestigious Conferences and Journals. For further details, please visit
